Oktoberfest Preview
So You Know: Despite the confusion its name causes, Oktoberfest is widely celebrated in September. The original Oktoberfest in Munich back in the 1800s was moved into September because the days are longer and the weather is warmer. There are plenty of Oktoberfest celebrations happening around the Twin Cities throughout the month and we’ll highlight a few in today’s newsletter.

Food - It’s Booya Season
If you’re like me, you have maybe never heard of “booya.” Well according to Wikipedia, booya is “a thick stew, believed to have originated in Belgium, and brought to northwestern Wisconsin by Walloons, it is now made throughout the Upper Midwestern United States.”
