Based in Minneapolis, we are dedicated to bringing you the most concise, easy-to-read briefing of the most important things you need to know as a Twin Cities resident.

Like you, we are invested in our communities and are always looking for ways to make them better places to live. Our goal is to be your partner in becoming a more informed Twin Cities resident by sharing the most important news, policy discussions, and events to your inbox twice per week.

Why you should subscribe and tell your friends

We believe that staying informed doesn't have to be boring or overwhelming. The Twin Cities has a wealth of incredible local journalism that helps keep our citizens informed. Our goal is to aggregate the news coming out of all these different sources (Pioneer Press, Star Tribune, WCCO, etc.) and deliver only the most important pieces of information to your inbox in a concise and easy-to-read briefing that cuts out all the jargon. We're here to keep you connected to the pulse of the Twin Cities.

Format of each newsletter

Each newsletter will have a consistent format. On Monday and Friday, a news briefing will be delivered to your inbox. On Thursday, you will receive a weekend event preview to help you take advantage of all the great activities happening in the Twin Cities. For the news briefing the format will be as follows:

Section 1: The Big Headlines

In this section, we highlight 2-3 big and current stories. We provide a quick summary, some background/context, and a bit of analysis. There are no opinions offered by The Twin Cities Insider and you should only expect objective, unbiased reporting of the stories happening in the Twin Cities. We provide you with plenty of links that take you to the original sources so that you can dive deeper on any story.

Section 2: Quick Hits

In this section we do a lightning round wrap-up of all the key stories and things happening in the Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota. Each bullet is a one sentence summary accompanied by a link to the original source

Section 3: The Final Word & Note from the Editor

In each newsletter we wrap up with one final word and a note from the editor. The Final word could be a beautiful photo, an interesting tweet, or a meme about the Minnesota Vikings. And finally, the note from the editor, Patrick Larson, is the only true commentary you will get in the Twin Cities Insider. While our reporting of the facts and stories will remain objective and unbiased, the note from the editor is Patrick’s chance to share a 1-2 sentence thought on anything from a great restaurant he tried to how he thinks the Twins will do in the postseason.
