Police
MPD Officers Shoot and Kill Armed Man In South Minneapolis 🚨
The Summary: A 39-year-old Bloomington man, Michael Warren Ristow, was fatally shot by police in south Minneapolis. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed his identity on Friday. Ristow was shot by officers on Wednesday after threatening a person with a gun in the 3000 block of Hiawatha Avenue in the Longfellow neighborhood.
Details of the Shooting: According to a preliminary report by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), Ristow fled from police, stopped at a fence, and turned toward the officers with a gun. The three officers then fired, striking Ristow.
Officers Involved: The officers involved in the shooting were identified as Enoch Langford, Abdirizaq Mumin, and Chaz Wilson. All three officers have been placed on leave pending the investigation, which is standard protocol in such incidents. The officers were equipped with body cameras, and the footage is under review
