TWIN CITIES WEEKEND PREVIEW — KEEPING YOU BUSY ✔

Today is April 4th.

Here is what’s going on in the Twin Cities this weekend.

Twins Opening Weekend ⚾

After opening up the season with two road series, the Twins return to Target Field for their home opener against the Cleveland Guardians. Here is all of the important information you need to know before heading to the ballpark:

When: Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. All games are in the afternoon.

Tickets: The Twins recently added 2,000 more standing room only tickets for $20. Other tickets start at around $30. Get them here.

The Food: Radio personality Jason Derusha recently tried all of the new food at Target Field. Read his review here.

Promos: The games on Saturday and Sunday will feature beanie giveaways. First 10,000 fans on Saturday and first 5,000 kids on Sunday will receive them.

Everything Else: My favorite Twins blog, Twins Daily, released its annual comprehensive guide to Target Field. They give tips on the best seats, best food, best parking, and some hidden gems in the ballpark. Definitely worth the read.

Pontoon in Right Field: And in true Minnesota fashion, there is now a pontoon “suite” in right field

⚾ TRIVIA: In the 1960s, the Minnesota Twins started playing their games at Metropolitan Stadium (The Met). Which baseball team was utilizing the stadium before then?

Food 🌯

🌯 Did you know today is National Burrito Day? My personal favorite is the Korean BBQ Beef Burrito from World Street Kitchen. Seriously, if you haven’t been to WSK, take my advice and got snag one of these burritos with their fries this weekend. Need some other advice? Check out this Reddit Thread that is loaded with great recommendations.

🥖 New Restaurant Opening: Picnic in Linden Hills is now open after months of remodeling what used to be the Clancy’s sandwich shop. Their menu features not only picnic boards, but also a variety of sandwiches, snacks, and plenty of cheese.

🚚 With spring knocking on our door, get ready for food trucks to start coming out of hibernation. This weekend, you can try out some of the Twin Cities best food trucks at the Prior Lake Food Truck Festival happening on Saturday. Learn more here.

🏆 James Beard Finalists: Three Twin Cities chefs/restaurants were named finalists for the elite James Beard award.
