Minnesota Adds Record Number Of Jobs In March š

The Summary: Minnesota added 10,700 new jobs in March, marking a 0.4 percent increase from the previous month. This is the stateās largest monthly gain in a year and is four times faster than the national job growth rate for the same period. The private sector contributed 9,200 of these jobs.
Sector Highlights: Construction and government employment saw the highest growth rates in March. All government job gains came from state and local levels, with local and state governments adding 1,500 jobs. Other sectors with notable gains included manufacturing, trade, transportation and utilities, professional and business services, education and health services, and leisure and hospitality.
Unemployment Rate and Labor Force: Despite the strong hiring numbers, Minnesotaās unemployment rate edged up to 3.1 percent in March. This uptick is attributed to more Minnesotans entering the labor force, bringing the participation rate to 68.2 percent.
Economic Outlook and Uncertainty: State officials are cautioning that recent federal layoffs and increased tariffs could impact future jobs data. Layoffs among federal employees are not yet reflected in the current numbers due to reporting lags.
