With the incoming snow, it could be a good weekend to hunker down. Here is what’s going on in the Twin Cities this weekend.

March Madness 🏀

With March Madness in full swing for both men and women, its the perfect weekend to cozy up at the bar and watch your bracket get busted. Here are some of our favorite spots:

Tom’s Watch Bar: There are no shortage of screens to watch every game at Tom’s. Plus, sign up for their newsletter and get a $1 pint of beer during your first visit.

A Bar of Their Own: This bar that shows exclusively women’s sports has taken Minneapolis by storm, with a line out the door on their opening day. Catch all of the women’s action and enjoy a full drink and food menu.

Bunny’s Bar and Grill: This classic bar St. Louis Park is a go-to spot to catch the game featuring 30 TV’s.

Iron Door Pub: Numerous televisions, local beers on tap, known for chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, and Reuben sandwiches. More info.

Runyon's: Known for legendary buffalo chicken wings, vintage feel, located in the Warehouse District. More Info.

Tiffany Sports Lounge: Extensive food options including classic wings and eight-hour Reubens. More Info.

The Gopher men and women’s basketball teams are not in the NCAA tournament but are both still in the NIT tourney (essentially the consolation tourament). The men play Sunday against Indiana State while the women got a first round bye.

Get Your Maple Syrup On 🍁

Maple Fest is taking place this Saturday at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Visit many different interactive stations throughout the park including learning how to tap trees and, most importantly, tasting the final result. Tickets are $15. More Info

Maple Syrup Day.  Spend the day experiencing all things Maple Syrup at the Osprey WIlds Environmental Center in Sandstone MN on Saturday. Tree identification, tapping sap, and making syrup are capped off with a full brunch featuring this Minnesota delicacy.  Brunch and Tour for adults $20. More Info

Sports 🏀

🏀 Timberwolves Basketball. Two home games this weekend at the Target Center. Friday the Wolves host the Cleveland Cavaliers at 7:00 pm and Sunday the Golden State Warriors at 6:00 pm.  Tickets starting at $20. More Info

🏀 Boys High School State Basketball Tournament. Championship games across all classes take place this Saturday at Williams Arena. Tickets start at $15.

🏒 Things are busy this weekend here in the State of Hockey.

Wild Hockey.  The Wild have an afternoon matchup at the Xcel Center with the St. Louis Blues on Saturday at 1:00 pm.  Tickets can be purchased from $74.  More Info

PWHL.  Minnesota’s first place PWHL team takes on Montreal at 3pm on Sunday at the Xcel Center.  Tickets begin at $19.  More Info.

FROZEN FACEOFF.  The National Collegiate Hockey Conference is invading the Xcel Center with semi-final matchups on Friday between North Dakota and Nebraska-Omaha at 4:00 pm and the nightcap between Denver University and St. Cloud State at 7:30 pm.  Championship on Saturday at 7:30 pm. Tickets begin at $55.
