Today is February 15th! Here is what’s going on in the Twin Cities this weekend.

Loppet World Cup 🏆

🏆 World Cup: This weekend, the world’s best nordic skiers will descend upon the Twin Cities for the FIS Cross Country World Cup. More than 150 athletes from 21 countries are set to compete in front of a sold-out crowd at Theodore Wirth Park. Learn more about the weekend’s events here.

🎿 Hometown hero: Jesse Diggins will be making her much anticipated home World Cup debut. The Minnesota native is coming off a 15km world cup victory in France this past week. 

🎫 Tickets: General admission tickets are sold out but VIP opportunities are still available here. 

❯ Not looking to shell out $500 for a VIP ticket but still want to get in on the action? Don’t worry, there are a few watch parties happening in the Twin Cities where you can still catch the action along with some food and drink.

Celebrate Black History Month

February is Black History Month and there are a number of ways to celebrate and support the Black community in the Twin Cities this month and beyond. 

❯ Visit the Somali Museum of Minnesota which offers a rich collection of over 700 traditional Somali arts and unique educational programs. Admission: $11. 

❯ Visit the Minnesota Institute of Art to explore an exhibition featuring Gordon Parks' intimate photo series capturing the daily life of government worker Ella Watson in 1942 Washington, D.C. Admission: FREE

❯ Listen to “A Celebration of Black Artists” at Artspace Jackson Flats Featuring complimentary SOUL ethnic food and bevs. Admission: FREE

❯ Visit the Minnesota African American Heritage Museum and Gallery which is currently has a Black Liberation on display now. Admission: FREE.

❯ Listen to “The Sound of Gospel” at the Cowles Center. Tickets start at $35. 

❯ Shop at one of the many Black owned businesses in the Twin Cities – check out this list from the Star Tribune and this list of restaurants from Minnesota Monthly.
