Snowboarding At The Capitol 🏂

Red Bull Heavy Metal 2025: Elite Street Snowboarding in Saint Paul

Get ready for an exhilarating showcase of street snowboarding as Red Bull Heavy Metal returns to Saint Paul on Saturday. This single-day contest will feature the world's top street snowboarders competing on the steps of the Minnesota State Capitol Building.

Event Details

• Date: Saturday, February 1

• Time: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM CT

• Location: Minnesota State Capitol Building

• Admission: Free and open to the public

Competition Format

The contest will showcase the most progressive rail riding in the world, with three distinct competition zones highlighting different aspects of street snowboarding. Riders will face custom-designed rails, gaps, and creative features that will push their skills to the limit.

A mix of veteran and up-and-coming talent from North America and Europe will compete, including:

• Benny Milam (2022 Red Bull Heavy Metal winner & Minnesota native)

• Grace Warner (2024 X Games Street Style gold medalist)

• Egan Wint (2023 & 2024 Red Bull Heavy Metal Women's winner)

• Pat Fava (2024 X Games Street Style gold medalist & 2023 Red Bull Heavy Metal Men's winner)

• Jaylen Hanson (2023 Red Bull Heavy Metal Women's runner-up & Minnesota native)

Great Northern Festival 🧖‍♂️

The Great Northern is an annual 10-day winter festival that takes place across the Twin Cities, bringing together the community during Minnesota's long, cold winters. Having started last weekend, the festival is well underway and wraps up on Sunday.

Unique Attractions

The Great Northern Sauna Village: Located at Malcolm Yards, this pop-up sauna village offers a one-of-a-kind experience with over 22 different saunas to try. Tickets start at $40.

The Great Northern Ice Bar: A 50-foot ice bar featuring specialty drinks curated by local mixologists, breweries, and distilleries.
